We all have within us tremendous wisdom and knowledge, often referred to as the intuitive mind. However we often find it hard to connect with this wisdom as the mind is to busy with its internal dialogue - often an endless dialogue about life, problems, feelings etc.....
This mental commentary we are often not aware of and yet it influences our feelings and perceptions. Becoming aware of this internal dialogue is the first step in changing the old patterns of thought 'I am not going to be able to do this" "this is not going to work"" and so it goes.
Imagine your inner dialogue sounded more like this
- Everyday I am getting better and better
- Everything I need is already with in me
- Perfect wisdom is in my heart
Mindful awareness is not about what happens in your physical body, but what happens in your mind. Mindfulness brings us into the present moment.
My hope for you is that thru your yoga practice you will take home tools for better handling of the stressors of life with grace and ease and know that everyday and in every way you are getting better and better.
As you approach the mat today, let go of any attachments or desires. When we are goal oriented, we find our practice becomes more about striving, struggling and achieving then that of letting go and undoing.
Learn to let go, relax and stop struggling, stop trying so hard and manipulating. Stop doing and have an experience to day on the mat of just being.
