Sitting here again in my comfy little perch, feeling exhausted from my activities yesterday, it is to hot already this morning to open the doors. The day is over caste which probably means we are in for some spring thunderstorms. The clouds are building, blocking the rays of the sun, yet I know it is still there, I can feel it. There is an occasional clearing where the sun shines forth with all it brilliance and yet here again come the clouds trying to block it out.
This will be the pattern of the day, as the heat and humidity build creating the perfect conditions for a Texas Thunderstorm. Do you see the connections. It is the thoughts, the perceptions that cloud and block our true authentic self. The sun, just like our spiritual self, is the same, the clouds, our thoughts our perceptions, are constantly changing, some days they are thicker then others, some days they are darker, and some days they sweep thru with great speed while other days they just sit, heavy.

There is no one way to achieve this, no right way but many ways. Yoga is universal and when you hear people say they are living their yoga, they in essence are striving to live a life of wholeness, not separated but truly connected to something outside of themselves. A higher power or energy. Worship is not something we are it is something we do, and it comes in many forms. I can remember the first time I discovered a full gospel church, wow! Now that is some kind of workshop. I can remember connecting with the energy of spirit and music and feeling connected As an artist, when I truly connect, become one with my work, be it drawing, painting or quilting, I can find this oneness this true connection where I see things so differently. It is such a yummy place to go, and easy to get lost there. For me yoga is a kind of worship, as I am able to truly connect and become whole. To some it may appear yoga has changed me, and on a physical level it has, but on a deeper level it has helped me to see my true light, it has helped me to filter thru the clouds of perception. This awareness, this knowing is key. The clouds still will come, and some days they are darker and heavier then others, but I know with out a doubt that like the sun on a cloudy day, my true self is still there, still shining. So as you approach your mat today set an intention of wholeness. As you link the breath with the movement, allowing the breath to move you, you will notice the thoughts become less and less. Allow the repetition of your movement, the repetition of your breath to get you out of your head and into your body. Take this time to leave the ego and anything else that is not going to serve you today out of your practice. Don't let the thoughts of form cloud you from the true function of your practice. Find that inner focus, the inner calm and connectedness. Feel it radiating out in all directions from your core as you extend, move ebb and flow. This is worship in movement as you dedicate your practice to your source, your light, your divinity. Christ said "the kingdom of God is within you" your yoga practice is but one way to find this kingdom, feel this kingdom and know this kingdom. Let your practice be a dedication, worship in movement. Listen, feel, sense, move and breath with confidence and intention. Allow what ever comes up to come up, feel it, release it and move beyond it! Open up and receive. As you prepare to leave, take a moment to reflect on this inner kingdom, this inner wisdom, this inner knowing. What clouds your perception, what are you allowing to get in your way from being all that you can be. Stand strong with the confidence of the inner wisdom, let your true authentic self explode out. As Mahatma Gandhi said, "be the change you wish to see in the world" See you on the mat! |
